Today we explore the Tibetan heart of India and learn why Dharamshala and McLeod Ganj have become so important to the Tibetan community.
We will visit the Dalai Lama Temple Complex, located near the official residence of the Dalai Lama. We will have time to walk around the complex, observe monks and pilgrims, spin prayer wheels, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere overlooking the valley.
We will then visit the Tibet Museum, where we will learn more about Tibetan history, culture, and the journey of the Tibetan people into exile.
Later, we will explore the beautiful Norbulingka Institute, created to preserve traditional Tibetan arts and culture. Its gardens, workshops, temples, prayer flags, and colorful artwork make it both a cultural center and one of the most beautiful places in the Dharamshala area.
This is not just sightseeing. Today we experience Tibetan culture where it is being actively practiced, protected, and passed on.
