HIGHLIGHTS

Namaste, and welcome to India! We begin this adventure in one of the oldest and most intense cities in the world: New Delhi.
We will arrive early, so we can have time to go on a city tour. We will explore both Old Delhi and New Delhi: the winding, crowded alleys of the old city and the wide, airy avenues of the new capital. We will visit Jama Masjid, one of the great mosques of India, with its towering minarets and striking red sandstone and white marble design.
Then we dive into the beautiful chaos of Chandni Chowk by rickshaw. This is India in full color: crowded lanes, street food, spices, fabric, honking, smells, movement, and life everywhere. It may be a little wild, but that is exactly why we are doing it!
We will pass in front of the Red Fort, whose red sandstone walls stretch for more than two kilometers, and continue to Raj Ghat, the memorial where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated.
We will finish with a visit to Gurdwara Bangla Sahib, one of Delhi’s most important Sikh temples. With its golden dome, sacred pool, peaceful atmosphere, and tradition of service, this will be a beautiful introduction to Sikh culture.
OVERNIGHT: Deventure Sarovar Kapashera or similar

Today we head toward the Himalayas: Rishikesh, the birthplace of yoga, and one of India’s most beloved river towns, where the Ganges river runs clean through the Himalayas.
We will drive from Delhi to Rishikesh and arrive in the afternoon. After checking in, we will head to Chaurasi Kutiya, better known as the Beatles Ashram. The Beatles stayed here in 1968 to study meditation, and the abandoned buildings are now filled with colorful murals, jungle growth, meditation chambers, and echoes of the music created during their time in India.
In the evening, we will attend the Ganga Aarti at Triveni Ghat: the sacred river flowing out of the Himalayas, surrounded by temples, chanting, lamps, and mountain energy.
After the aarti, we will have dinner at one of the local restaurants and settle into the softer rhythm of Rishikesh.
OVERNIGHT: Antalya Hotel and Spa or similar
MEALS: Breakfast

Today, the adventure level goes back up!
This morning, we will go whitewater rafting on the Ganges (optional). With professional river guides leading the way, we will paddle through rapids surrounded by forested hills and Himalayan foothill scenery. This is the clean, mountain-fed stretch of the Ganges, and being on the river here is one of the best ways to experience Rishikesh.
In the afternoon, we will have time to enjoy the local markets and cafés. Rishikesh has a relaxed traveler atmosphere, with rooftop cafés, river views, little shops, yoga studios, ashrams, and plenty of places to simply sit and take it all in.
In the evening, we will walk to a quiet spot along the river for sunset. The Ganges glows in golden light, and the surrounding hills shift into shades of orange, purple, and blue.
OVERNIGHT: Antalya Hotel and Spa or similar
MEALS: Breakfast

We will begin the morning with a yoga session in the yoga capital of the world. You do not need to be flexible, experienced, spiritual, or able to twist yourself into a pretzel. This is simply a chance to experience Rishikesh in a way that fits the place.
The rest of the day is free to relax, hike, swim in the clean waters of the Himalayan Ganges, enjoy the cafés, wander the town, or simply sit by the river and soak in our last day in the Himalayas.
You may notice that we purposefully included slow and calm days here. After so many early mornings, flights, drives, cities, temples, and full days, we want time to actually feel the beauty of the Himalayas rather than rush through them.
This is not wasted time. This is the part where India breathes.
OVERNIGHT: Antalya Hotel and Spa or similar
MEALS: Breakfast

Today is a full-day scenic leisure drive from Rishikesh to Agra, the city of the Taj Mahal.
We will leave the Himalayan foothills behind and travel across northern India, watching the landscape shift once again. This will be a long travel day, but it also gives us a chance to rest, talk, listen to music, look out the window, and let the trip transition from mountains and river life into Mughal history and one of the most famous monuments on Earth.
We will arrive in Agra in the evening and have dinner at a restaurant with a view of the Taj Mahal.
We will not fully see it until tomorrow morning, but tonight we get the anticipation. The Taj is waiting.
OVERNIGHT: Royal Sarovar Portico or similar
MEALS: Breakfast

Today is one of the great highlights of the entire trip: the Taj Mahal. The monument of love and is one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, but no description really prepares you for standing in front of it
We will visit at sunrise, when the light is soft, the air is cooler, and the marble begins to glow as the sun comes up.
Once you see it with your own eyes, you will understand why people travel across the world for this moment.
After our sunrise visit, we will return to the hotel for breakfast and then begin our journey toward Ranthambore National Park. Along the way, we will stop at Agra Fort, the massive red sandstone fortress that was once a seat of the Mughal Empire, and Fatehpur Sikri, the impressive former Mughal capital.
We will arrive at Ranthambore National Park in the evening and have a free evening at one of India’s most beautiful wildlife areas. Tomorrow, we go looking for tigers.
OVERNIGHT: Anuraga Palace or similar
MEALS: Breakfast

Rise and shine. It is safari day!
Today we will go on two safaris in Ranthambore National Park, one of the best-known places in India to search for the majestic Royal Bengal tiger.
We will be out in the wild, reading the landscape with our guides, listening for alarm calls, looking for tracks, scanning the forest, and hoping for one of those unforgettable moments when a tiger appears through the trees.
Even beyond the tigers, Ranthambore is full of wildlife. We may see leopards, striped hyenas, Indian jackals, sloth bears, sambar deer, spotted deer, marsh crocodiles, jungle cats, the elusive tufted-eared caracal, and countless other mammals, reptiles, and birds.
Cameras ready. Eyes open. And remember: on safari, anything can happen.
OVERNIGHT: Anuraga Palace or similar
MEALS: Breakfast

We begin the morning with one more safari in Ranthambore. One more chance. One more sunrise. One more drive through the wild landscapes of the park.
After breakfast, we will leave for Jaipur and arrive in the afternoon. Welcome to the Pink City!
After lunch, we will visit the City Palace Museum, home to beautiful collections of Rajasthani costumes, royal objects, miniature paintings, carpets, and historic weaponry from the Mughal and Rajput periods. This is a wonderful introduction to Jaipur’s royal history and artistic traditions.
We will then continue to Jantar Mantar, the remarkable stone astronomical observatory built by Maharaja Jai Singh in the 18th century. It is part science, part architecture, part ancient genius, and completely unlike anything most travelers have seen before.
Tigers in the morning, royal Jaipur in the afternoon. This is India, and she does not do boring days.
OVERNIGHT: Sarovar Portico Jaipur or similar
MEALS: Breakfast

Today we drive to the ancient capital of Amer, also known as Amber, to visit the fabulous Amer Fort.
Before Jaipur’s City Palace was built, Amer was the seat of power. The fort rises above the landscape, surrounded by fortified walls and overlooking Maota Lake. We will ascend by jeep to the main gate and explore the palace chambers, courtyards, hallways, and decorated rooms that make Amer one of the most impressive forts in Rajasthan.
The town around Amer Fort also has beautiful small temples and the photogenic Panna Meena stepwell, a geometric maze of staircases that shows how even practical structures in Rajasthan could become works of art.
In the evening, we will experience Holika Dahan, the sacred bonfire held on the eve of Holi. This ancient ritual celebrates the victory of devotion and good over evil, and it marks the beginning of the Festival of Colors.
The fire is lit, the excitement builds, and by tomorrow morning, Jaipur will be ready to explode with color. Get some sleep. We are going to need our energy!
OVERNIGHT: Sarovar Portico Jaipur or similar
MEALS: Breakfast

This is it. Holi!
We will finish our trip with one of the most joyful celebrations in the world: the famous Festival of Colors. Holi is one of those once-in-a-lifetime experiences that you should do at least once, and Jaipur is one of the best places in India to celebrate it.
During Holi, the historic Pink City transforms into a vibrant, multi-colored canvas. Music, dancing, laughter, and clouds of color fill the air.
We will celebrate at a private Holi party, which gives us the fun, color, and energy of Holi in a safer and more controlled environment. We will throw organic colorful herbal powders, dance, laugh, take ridiculous photos, and probably later discover color in places where color has no business being.
Wear clothing you do not mind permanently transforming into a souvenir, protect your phone and camera, and do not expect to stay clean for more than thirty seconds.
After Delhi, Rishikesh, the Taj Mahal, tiger safaris, and Jaipur, we end with one massive celebration.
OVERNIGHT: Sarovar Portico Jaipur or similar
MEALS: Breakfast

Well, the time has come to say Alvida (अलविदा) to magnificent India and its beautiful and friendly people.
After breakfast, we will pack up and drive to Delhi airport for our flights home. Along the way, we will have time to compare photos, laugh about our favorite moments, and maybe continue discovering traces of Holi powder that somehow survived every shower.
We will leave India with memories of sunrise on the Himalayan Ganges, and the spiritual beauty of Rishikesh, the Taj Mahal at sunrise, tiger safaris in Ranthambore, royal palaces in Jaipur, and one spectacularly colorful final celebration.
Eleven days. Five destinations. Taj Mahal, tigers, Himalayas, Holi, and one unforgettable 1000 Treks adventure.
